There are two ways to reset Vivo phone: factory reset and hard reset.
Factory reset
A factory reset will erase all data from your phone, including your apps, contacts, photos, and music. It will also restore your phone to its factory settings.
To perform a factory reset:
- Go to Settings > System > Reset Options.
- Tap Erase all data (factory reset).
- Enter your password or PIN and tap Erase All Data.
- Your phone will restart and the factory reset process will begin.
Hard reset
A hard reset is a more drastic measure than a factory reset. It will erase all data from your phone, including your system settings. It will also restore your phone to its factory settings.
To perform a hard reset:
- Turn off your phone.
- Press and hold the Power and Volume Up buttons until the Fastboot menu appears.
- Use the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons to select Recovery Mode, then press the Power button.
- In the Recovery Mode menu, use the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons to select Wipe data/factory reset, then press the Power button.
- Select Yes–delete all user data and press the Power button.
- Your phone will restart and the hard reset process will begin.
Which reset should you use?
A factory reset is typically the best option if you are having problems with your phone. It will erase all of your data, but it will also restore your phone to its factory settings, which may fix the problem.
A hard reset is only necessary if a factory reset does not fix the problem. It is a more drastic measure, so it is important to make sure that you have backed up all of your data before performing a hard reset.
